Reading together!

As we discussed at curriculum night, it is SO very important for your child to be reading AT LEAST 20 minutes per day. At this stage, it is ok if you are reading together! I encourage that time with your child. A great way to transition from you doing most of the reading is to take turns. You read a page, your child reads a page.

As you are reading books together, I want to share some ideas for talking points about the texts you read. Talking about reading, interacting with text, thinking about our thinking--all wonderful things excellent readers do! We work on this together in class during shared reading time, but I wanted to give you some easy access tools/suggestions for home use!

You can print these and keep them handy by your reading books!
