As we prepare for the upcoming school year I wanted to make you aware of recent changes happening around the district. Our district is moving towards being “Nut Safe”. We are asking that all families please only provide their students with nut-safe snacks, when snacks will be consumed outside of the lunchroom. This has been put in place to ensure the safety of all of our students. Students are able to bring nut products to the lunchroom; students with nut allergies are provided with nut free tables. All district purchased school lunches are nut safe.
We also have students with other food allergies besides nuts, so please check with your student’s teacher. In regards to classroom celebrations and birthday celebrations we are a food-free celebration school. We kindly request that families work with the classroom teacher to come up with creative ways to celebrate without the use of food. The Mann community and families have always been very supportive of these safety measures. This provides a great source of comfort to the families of those students with life threatening food allergies.
