Halloween is coming...

As you may have heard, Wednesday, October 31 is Halloween! ;)

Here is the plan for us...

  • The Candy Corns will have their regular Wednesday morning schedule {well, as best I can keep them focused!}
  • The Candy Corns should NOT wear their costumes to school.
  • The whole school will have an extended lunch hour from 10:45am-12:15pm. If you would l like your child to come home for lunch and to change into costume. We will dismiss at the 7W door {like always}. When returning to school, you can have your child come through the main entrance doors.
  • The Candy Corns who stay at school will have recess, lunch, and then time to change into their costumes. I will be on hand to help them!
  • Mann School class parties will run from 12:15 until 1:00pm.
  • All adults will help clean up the rooms, and then head outdoors for a good viewing spot for the parade. The parade will take a different route this year at the beginning as it will allow for students to see each others costumes prior to marching outside. {Below is a copy of Mr. LeDeaux's email explaining the new route.} The parade will begin at 1:15pm.
  • The children will come back into school to take home any items, and be dismissed at 1:55pm from the blacktop, 7W door.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

In an effort to provide a set up which students and staff can see all costume participants, we are trying something a little different with our Halloween Parade this year.  Mr. LeDeaux will begin the Parade from the office at 1:15.  I will parade through the building, picking up class after class.  Once the parade goes past a class, they will join in, allowing all students and staff to see each other.  Once we have everyone, we will exit the 6W doors (where 3rd grade enters in the morning, the south most door that faces west) and follow around the building-->turning left/south around the Kindergarten entrance side of the building-->left again along the front of the building parading north on Kenilworth-->left on Berkshire traveling west-->left into the parking lot and back into the building through the gym doors.

The parade will then repeat its route back through the building, dropping classes off.

Students will be dismissed at 1:55.

I understand many families like to watch the parade.  We ask that you help keep our Parade orderly and safe by:
  •          keeping the sidewalks clear
  •          standing back in the grass on the west side of the building
  •          standing half way back on the blacktop on the Kindergarten entrance (south side) of the building

We know the route is new and different, but is something we would like to try.  Thank you for your understanding and support.
